Policy and Structural Advocacy
A priority for YAA is to advocate and develop policies to support the capacity and sustainability of the SAAP sector in their work with young people at risk of or experiencing homelessness. The policy and structural advocacy section of the organisation is focussed on developing policy and advocacy responses to key issues effecting the youth homelessness sector and young people at risk of or experiencing homelessness. This is done through consultations, minor research and linkages with other like minded individuals and organisations.
A significant strategy is to ensure that the needs of homeless young people remain on the political agenda and that members are supported to respond to local, state and national issues that effect their clients.
