“National Green Paper
We are currently beginning to draft a YAA response to the Federal Governments “Which way home” Green paper which is part of the process of redesigning a new national approach to homelessness. To download the Green Paper go to http://www.facs.gov.au/internet/facsinternet.nsf/housing/green_paper_qa.htm

The deadline for the response is 27th June. go to http://www.facs.gov.au/internet/facsinternet.nsf/housing/green_paper_qa.htm

The Green Paper put forward three options for reforming the homeless sector. Initial response from the youth homelessness sector has been that these three options are not suitable. The National Youth Coalition for Housing is the national peak body for youth homelessness. They have devised a holistic continuum of care for homeless young people in Australia, see the model below.  YAA is using this model to build an Option 4 for youth homelessness. For further information on this model please go to the policy page

YAA is facilitating a series of consultations on the Green Paper, if you are not able to attend or would like to make further comments please  feel free to email your comments directly to michael@yaa.com.au to have them included in the YAA response to the Green Paper.”
